Andrew Golota Gets a Win

Some boxing news on Andrew Golota:

Andrew Golota could get another world title shot following a brave points win over Mike Mollo.

The 40-year-old Polish boxer finished the fight with his left eye completely closed after dominating the middle rounds, using his superior height and 17lb weight advantage to smother an opponent 13 years his junior.

Here's a great article in Eastside boxing about the fight and about Golota's career:

WBC WBO WBA IBF Unification
Wladimir Klitschko 49 W 3 L 0 D 44 KOs vs.
Sultan Ibragimov 21 W 0 L 1 D 17 KOs

Clash of the heavyweights - this is what the heavyweight division need - a unification bout like this. Klitschko hasn't really been tested in a while, and Ibragimov will be a tough opponent. A lot on the line for these fighters, they will both be going for this one.

John Duddy 23 W 0 L 0 D 17 KOs vs.
Walid Smichet 17 W 3 L 3 D 13 KOs

Irish John Duddy is back in New York on the undercard of the Klitschko V Ibragimov fight. Still undefeated and rated number three by the WBO and WBC - as well as number six and number 11 by the WBA and IBF - Duddy (23-0, 17 KOs) is also ranked 10 in The Ring magazine. Let's hope he gets past Smichet here, and move on to great things.
